Volunteer

Are you looking to meet new people, be more involved your community or challenge yourself by learning new skills? Habitat for Humanity Huron County has a place for you.

Volunteers are the core of Habitat Huron County. Every year Habitat volunteers donate over 10,000 hours, helping us to build new homes, operate our Restores, assist with special events and more. Regardless of availability or skill level, all volunteers are welcome.

During Volunteer Orientation you will learn more about Habitat for Humanity, as well as receive any relevant health and safety training to  ensure you stay a safe and happy volunteer.

Build

Interested in working on a Habitat Build, but are not sure if you have the experience? There are training opportunities available for volunteers new to construction. If you are willing to take instruction and assist with any task, we have meaningful work for you.

If you are a skilled volunteer with experience in construction, plumbing, electrical etc. we definitely want to speak with you. Skilled volunteers greatly help us keep costs low and get the job done quicker and easier.

ReStore

By volunteering at a Restore, you’re contributing to Habitat Huron County’s mission of providing decent and affordable housing. Whether helping out as a cashier, providing support in the warehouse, or delivering exceptional customer service, Restore volunteers allow us to keep our costs low, making more funds available for our Build Program.

Apply Now, or contact our Volunteer Coordinator for more information about volunteering at one of our ReStore locations.

Special Events

Each year we host a number of special events and are always looking for volunteers willing to help. With a variety of tasks, from sign making, to meal prep, to photography, if you’re looking for flexibility in your volunteering, special events are a great way to support the program and your community.

Operating Committees

Habitat for Humanity Huron County is seeking skilled individuals to serve on our operating committees. Committee members are responsible for the effective governance of our organization.
